I probably wouldn’t be alive if it weren’t for this man.

Tucson Massage

Dr. Reggie Stout, L.Ac.

In 2008 he helped me crawl out of major pancreatitis that caused me to lose 30 lbs (droppingfrom 185 to 155). Through Dr. Reggie Stout’s acupuncture, which was a total God-send, I was able to get back to 170 and work, etc.

However, my adrenal gland never fully recovered and I relapsed in 4/2010. Again, when I thought all hope was lost and I couldn’t eat anything and was down to 140 with all kinds of electrolyte and muscle deterioration, twitches, etc. God brought Reggie back into my life. At the time I was financially blown away by major stresses in my life, and just when I thought there was no hope, Dr. Reggie’s treatments have rebuilt my digestion and is slowly calming my adrenal gland.

I’m up to 153 lbs. and some days are better than others.

I’m looking forward to getting some answers from the MRI of the adrenals on Wed. and I’m praying (yes, please pray) that I can find an Endocrine Specialist under my AP/IPA insurance plan that will see me in early July – the only one I’ve found so far is end of August. I’m also considering a new primary care doc – pray for the Lord to guide me to one nearby.

So, I’m highly recommend Dr. Reggie Stout, who uses his 2 doctorate degrees to be a real healer for people. He really cares and is God’s servant – although you may never hear him say that, you can just tell his motivation.

He teaches at an academy but also practices Chinese Herbology and Acupuncture and Naturpathic medicine through Peaceful Spirit Massage and Wellness Centers.

Sports massage was originally developed to assist athletes in getting their bodies ready for optimal performance, recover after a big event, or function well during training. Sports massage emphasizes prevention and healing of injuries to the muscles and tucson sports massagetendons.

Sports massage is a type of Swedish Massage that stimulates circulation of blood and lymph fluids.

Sports massage usually includes:

1.  Pre-event: brief, invigorating massage given within an hour of event incorporating rocking and compressions.

2.  Post-event: calming massage incorporating slow compressions and stretches.

The benefits of a sports massage are many…

  • Improves performance
  • Energizes pre-event and relaxes post-event
  • Reduces muscle soreness and fatigue
  • Improves recovery time after a workout
  • Decreases chance of injury
  • Promotes faster healing after injury

Sue Burroughs knows all about stress. She’s a financial advisor trying to soothe the worries of investors. And in the past three years, she has tried to cope with the grief that came with the passing of family members. Through it all, however, her body never became twisted and painful with the stress, as so often happens to other people. She credits the multiple types of body works she does: massage, shiatsu, acupuncture, ballet, yoga, and inner body workouts.

It all started innocently — with two massages a week. But it wasn’t enough. She added shiatsu to the program. “From the very first appointment, I had relief from neck pain that I’ve had since a car accident in ‘85,” she said. “It was gone. And I had this sense of well-being. So I started adding other treatments. I began to realize that I couldn’t rely on passive body work. I needed to do more active stuff.”

I soon suggested that Sue should mix and match her body treatments.  I believe that by combining different lifestyle changes and heatucson massageling modalities you get synergistic results.

I once had a client, a senior citizen, who works out three or four times a week, who came into Peaceful Spirit  for hip and foot pain. I combined two treatments to help her heal. “I worked with her with massage, and I taught her very specific stretches to do for the muscles in her hips. … Consequently, no more hip pain.

Imagine that you have chronic lower back pain. One massage would give you benefits that may last you a day to a week or more.  If you add a movement class, where you learn how to move the body in such a way as to not perpetuate the problem, you’ll get benefits that will last all your life.

Barbara Moore, a quadriplegic who has dealt with pain much of her life, also swears by the multiple modality approach. “I do yoga, massage, shiatsu, Belavi facelift massage and chiropractic,” she said with relish in her voice. “They help with circulation, lower back and shoulder pains. Combining the body work has made a great deal of difference in working with what muscles I have left. It provides a great deal of balance.”

To find what combination of methods might work best for you, give Peaceful Spirit a call. Once we hear what’s going on with your body, then we can make recommendations on what to do first.

Now you might be thinking “Isn’t seeing a variety of practitioners likely to increase the amount of money I pay”? But you are going to get lasting results. And I personally believe that ultimately it will cost less because you are going to be in better health. Who knows what you will have prevented. Burroughs would agree with that. “I can’t express how much it changed my life,” she said of combining body work. “It’s made such a difference in my well-being.”

Therapeutic Massage For Diabetics

Tucson Massage

Diabetes is a disease of impaired carbohydrate metabolism, which results from inadequate production or utilization of the hormone insulin. This vital substance is necessary to convert food into energy, by facilitating the transfer of glucose (sugar) from the bloodstream into the body’s cells. Of the 16 million people in the United States with diabetes, most have a genetic predisposition to the disease.

Therapeutic massage can greatly help people who are suffering from diabetes…    Tucson massage

Relaxation: By calming the nervous system, massage can bring a much-needed rest and an assuring sense of well-being to the body. Skillfully applied touch can have a profound effect on body chemistry, decreasing the production of stress hormones, with resulting beneficial effects to blood sugar levels.

Circulation: Improved circulation allows for more efficient uptake of insulin by the cells. Circulation is often impaired in diabetics due to the damaging effects of elevated blood sugar levels on the cells of the body. Massage of the hands and feet can be particularly beneficial.

Studies have shown that massage therapy tends to lower blood sugar levels by approximately 20 to 40 points, other factors being equal. Occasionally extreme changes in blood sugar have been noted, as much as 100-point increase or decrease in an hour.

Are you presently diagnosed with either Diabetes I or Diabetes II?  Then consider therapeutic massage as part of your diabetes management regime.  Call Peaceful Spirit Massage and Wellness Centers today – 520-320-1953 and ask for a therapist who specializes in massage therapy for diabetes.
